SEA Write Awards announced

10 writers from South East Asia honoured by Thailand

The SEA Write Award has been given out annually by the Thai government since 1979.

Among the winners is Singaporean writer Yeng Pway Ngon, Brunei’s Haji Masri Haji Idris, and Malaysia’s Mohamed Ghozali Abdul Rashid. 

The Keynote speaker at the 2013 S.E.A. Write Awards Ceremony is Ms. Edna O’Brien, an award-winning Irish novelist, playwright, poet and short story writer now living in London. She has been described as “the most gifted woman now writing in English” as well as “one of the great creative writers of her generation”.

On this special occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside at this year’s Awards Presentation Ceremony and Gala Luncheon, confirmed for Monday, 14 October 2013 from 10.30 am in the Royal Ballroom of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.
