Jonathan Olvera shares a story that explores themes of survival, resilience, and the human spirit as it follows a young man navigating life in an unforgiving environment, diving into struggles and moments of personal growth as he confronts adversity.

It is a bright afternoon and the sun is up. It feels like time for coffee. I warm up some water and prepare the provisions. The Ground coffee. I inspect the mug and take it to the wash basin. It is not too far away. I place 3 scoops in the load, and I switch the machine on. I place 5 cups of water into the machine. It is a very hot day, rather odd. The phenomena began years ago as a solar storm, although never minding, a young man must prepare to step forward in the faith and strength of his temple.

I walk into my small room made of shredded wood and adhesive. a product of our national pulp industry and mathematics to make construction. Making every day count and having attended to my work assignment I have prepared my boots, a backpack, and notebook – utensils. I keep a few clothes on a budget. There are clothes that I need to keep my presence in the job market and trade.
