Literary News: Call for Submissions- Ananke Mag Special Edition

Ananke Mag’s special edition, Voices 2026 is dedicated to celebrating the richness and diversity of the Arab literary landscape

Ananke Mag is proud to announce its upcoming special edition, Voices 2026, dedicated to celebrating the richness and diversity of the Arab literary landscape, including the diaspora and its global imprint. This edition will focus particularly on the extraordinary contributions of Arab women writers, whose voices have navigated and challenged historical and contemporary barriers—from patriarchy and censorship to conflict and war—shaping narratives that inspire, subvert, and redefine literary discourse.

Our Vision

Voices 2026 seeks to counter Western-centric stereotypes and tropes, highlighting the revolutionary journey of Arab women from the margins to the center of literary production. This issue aims to illuminate the region’s dynamic, multifaceted, and vibrant literary scene, showcasing voices that demand to be heard, works that challenge convention, and narratives that expand understanding.

  2. Identity and memory – Explorations of selfhood, collective memory, and the human experience across time, space, and diaspora.
  3. Speculative fiction & the Anthropocene – Post-colonial and ecofeminist perspectives on environmental, societal, and existential challenges.
