In this short story, Akshaya Ganesh explores the complications of love and relationships along with their beauty.

The resto-bar was bustling with youngsters and bartenders running errands to serve them. The dance floor was crowded with men and women swaying to their favorite beats with a glass in their hands. Jeevita sat in a dimly lit corner of the pub, not wanting to be recognized by anyone. She settled in her seat, lost in thoughts. Though her friends surrounded her, an invisible barrier existed, separating her from the lively conversations and laughter that echoed around her. Glistening with a hint of melancholy, her eyes scanned the room as if searching for something that eluded her grasp.

The corner of her lips curved into a polite smile every time her friends passed a comment masking the longing that resided deep inside her heart. As her friends laughed and clinked glasses, as the pub reverberated with life, she became lost in her own world – where she belonged, where longing met hope and solitude intertwined with a yearning to be seen, heard, and understood. That very moment – she was but a million emotions – solitary yet craving companionship, surrounded yet yearning for connection. In the midst of all the animated conversations, she seemed to be holding a conversation of her own, a dialogue with her deepest self.
