Sreelaasya Bhattiprolu narrates a thrilling story set in the majestic town of Darjeeling full of suspense and mystery leaving the reader on the edge of their seat till the end.

In the rolling green hills of North East India lies the charming town of Darjeeling, steeped in history and mystery. It was Dhriti’s first night here as the town’s newly appointed detective. After learning about the quaint town’s lively night market, Dhriti decided to visit it. Dhriti wandered through the bustling town square, alive with the chatter of vendors and townsfolk. Fairy lights cast a dreamy, warm glow over the innumerable pushcarts vendors stood behind, the dark night sky a blatant contrast to the exuberant scene below. Dhriti stood there for a while, admiring how this new place was worlds different from her previous posting.

Before her transfer to Darjeeling, Dhriti was posted in the crime-infested nest of Bombay; what most people now know as Mumbai. Bombay was criminal central. From chain-snatching to full-blown serial killers, the streets were familiar with all of them and it was why most police detectives were posted there as a part of their first assignment out of the academy, as was Dhriti. Her seniors sought her determination for newbie excitement – something that would die down during her first case but little did they know, Dhriti joined the force because of her strong sense of justice and it seemed even the most dangerous city in the country couldn’t shake it off of her. In the end, she got involved in a nasty drug cartel case and was forced to transfer as she got too close to the truth.
