In this essay, Hema makes us travel to Jakarta as she explores the capital city of Indonesia with its diverse attractions.

When you wish for a rose and a bouquet comes your way, your gaze is no longer confined to the velvety petals. It wanders, admiring the stalks from which stem out the delicate blooms, wondering a little further about their origin. Moving to Indonesia is a similar experience for me. A year ago, it would have featured somewhere in the bucket list of countries I wished to visit someday, imagining myself on the sandy beaches of Bali or exploring a remote islet of the Archipelago, but here I am, with all my belongings, bracing for a longer stay, right in the capital city of Jakarta.
