The Son

It’s a small house–hardly 600 square feet, but it’s home.

The state government had allotted it to Bapu under the Lower Income Group (LIG) housing scheme. Many years ago, he had left his village and moved to the city in pursuit of a better life. Our living situations constantly changed, with makeshift houses that were far from ideal, but we still managed to create a semblance of the city life he envisioned for us.
