“Are you sure?” I ask in my smug voice. I didn’t mean to intimidate him or question his decisions, but I find him funny, almost nonsensical.
He nods.
“And when are you going to do it?”
He keeps chewing on the tip of the stale crimson leaf, tilts his head toward me a little and for one second, I think he wants to laugh. “That’s nothing to do with you.” His whiskers dance along the direction of the wind in steady waves.
I scoff, and a whiff of smoke leaves my mouth. “I would really like to say something so romantic to stop you from disappearing, I would, but you know we are so deep creatures of tragedy, we create one if we don’t get it in the end. Is that what you’re trying to do?”
