Sohana Manzoor shares a powerful experimental story which is also a commentary on our world in many ways.
I heard about the Carnival only last year, sometime before my sister Lura disappeared. Our neighbor Sheba also spoke flatteringly about this amazing place where anything is possible. Only now I am beginning to see what she meant. Just watching the dancing clowns, tigers jumping through hoops, roaring lions and hooting monkeys can take up an entire day. Then there are the magic houses, ice cream parlors, music festivals, dance competitions, and food stalls from all over the world—everything that can capture small-town dwellers like us.
