“Why have a gender-b(i)ased genre for women writers alone?”- Reet Singh (Indian Author)

Team Kitaab is in conversation with Indian author Reet Singh as a part of the South Asian Women Writers Feature.
For the whole of March, we will be featuring South Asian Women Writers on Kitaab. You can read the editor’s note to know more about this.
Today, we are featuring Indian author Reet Singh.
Reet Singh is the pen name of Upreet Dhaliwal. Reet writes simple, sweet love stories while Upreet, who is an eye surgeon and taught for decades in a medical college in Delhi, prefers to dabble in scientific facts that are utterly fascinating (to her), though definitely neither sweet nor simple. Both her personas write poetry which is a nice meeting ground for them. Read the poems here, here, and get yourself a copy here.
