Sahana Ahmed’s debut novel Combat Skirts (2018) is a powerfully engaging and brilliantly penned story. The novel is well-narrated in a captivating style. It is based on the life of Saba Minhas, a young girl from an Army background, and focuses upon her experiences of hostel life in Calcutta, and her love adventures/misadventures, finally leading her to find her true love, after many difficulties enroute.
Gurgaon-based Sahana Ahmed is currently working on a book series titled ‘Why India Matters’. Her poems and short fiction have been published widely in leading international publications. For her work in the social sector, she received the ‘Woman of the Decade’ award at the Women Economic Forum 2022.
