Kritika G Soin shares a heartwarming and tender tale of love full of hope and the beauty of life when one is surrounded by love.

Maya sang Bengali songs better than the original artists. There was something in her voice that gave the songs more flavour. After many years of deliberation, I understood that everything she did, including singing, was pigmented with divine love.

I still wake up to the songs she sang. When my alarm goes off, I quickly turn it off and tune into my memory of her deep voice singing it to me instead; I beam with love too.

Today morning that song was accompanied by the gushing sounds of the rain. While the alarm brought back her voice, the sounds of the rain brought back our memories. It would be expected that on a day like today, the heavens would roar and accompany the ache in my chest.
