When you read the first story of an anthology, and immediately turn to Google to learn more about the narrated incident, only to be reminded that it’s all fiction, you know this is meant to be a riveting read! This was precisely my reaction when I picked up Captain (Retired) Beetashok Chatterjee’s latest collection of sea stories, Windchimes by the Sea – Stories Blown Ashore. Published by Readomania, this anthology is, in the author’s own words, “dedicated to all those who love the sea and read fiction.” The cover image with bubble-shaped windchimes dangling against a palette of azure, cyan, and cerulean, and seagulls hovering above foam-crested waves, does complete justice to the theme and lures the reader into an enduring, intriguing voyage.
