Dr. Priyanka Chakraborty in conversation with writer, poet, critic, translator, scholar, and academician Dr. Sanjukta Dasgupta where she shares her journey of writing, her inspiration, and what continues to fuel it.

Dr Sanjukta Dasgupta is an eminent writer, poet, critic, translator, scholar, and academician. She has twenty-seven published works to her credit. She is the President of the Intercultural Poetry and Performance Library, Kolkata, and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Jnanpith Award. She was a Professor of English and Dean, Faculty of Arts, Calcutta University. She is the recipient of IWSFF Women Achievers Award, WEI Kamala Das Poetry Award, ETHOS Literary Award, Governor’s Scroll of Honour, and CLRC National Lifetime Achievement Award. Her latest book Eklavlya Speaks (2023)celebrates various subaltern and marginalised characters from Hindu mythology. Her poetic rendition provides a new life to these characters and a fresh look into their psyche. 

Dr. Priyanka Chakraborty works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of English, Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata. She is a recipient of Fulbright Fellowship (22-23). She is engaged with translations of children’s short stories from Bengali, Hindi, and Tibetan to English.
