In this short story, Sreelekha Chatterjee shares a powerful story about women who play so many roles in day-to-day lives and carry unrecognised burdens, both emotional and mental.

Isha couldn’t believe her ears. Her boss, Mrinalini, was eulogising her, perhaps for the first time ever since she’d joined, while introducing her to a new joiner, Sumit.

“It’s such a delight to work with Isha. An incredible worker.”

Her words made Isha wonder whether she was still in bed and dreaming about a perfect day. She didn’t realise what was coming up next and seldom guessed correctly when it came to assessing the mood of her boss.
