India: ‘Writing for children is challenging and it doesn’t pay’: Payal Dhar 

Having grown up in a family of readers and writers, it was but natural for Payal Dhar to take up writing. Having studied journalism, the obvious profession for her was that of a writer or related fields. In the city for the first Chandigarh Children’s Literature Festival, she said that as a child, a shy one, she was always surrounded by books and that is all she could ever imagine doing.
