Literary News: London’s first Arabic bookshop closes down after 44 years

Al-Saqi Books, a popular bookstore located in the Bayswater area of London closed down its shutters on 31st December, 2022.

Established in 1978, Al-Saqi Books was the first Arabic Bookstore in London. Despite the bookshop shutting down, the two publishing houses owned by them under the same name for publishing books in Arabic and English will continue to operate.
