Kitaab author Mithran Somasundrum was in conversation with writer and film-maker James Newman
On 17th January 2023 at Delaney’s pub in Bangkok, Kitaab author Mithran Somasundrum was in conversation with writer and film-maker James Newman.
Somasundrum talked about his influences and writing process. He also described his development as a writer, from short stories to three unsuccessful novels, to his conception of The Mask Under My Face which, after some re-writing, found publication with Kitaab.
Somasundrum read from the novel’s opening section, described by Newman as a “very dramatic way to begin a book,” and afterwards there was a short Q&A session.

Namrata is a published author who enjoys writing stories and think pieces on travel, relationships, and gender. She is a UEA alumnus and has studied travel writing at the University of Sydney.

Her short stories have been a part of various anthologies . She has also published two short story collections of her own along with two solo titles as well. She is currently working on her debut novel. She loves travelling the length and breadth of the world and enjoys capturing the magic of life in her words. She is always in pursuit of a new country and a new story.
