Team Kitaab is in conversation with Indian author Sonia Dogra as a part of the South Asian Women Writers Feature.

For the whole of March, we will be featuring South Asian Women Writers on Kitaab for the whole of March. You can read the editor’s note to know more about this.

Today, we are featuring Indian poet and writer Sonia Dogra. Sonia is an ex-educator, editor, poet, and writer who belongs to the hill town of Shimla and is based in Delhi.

After a ten-year-long career in teaching, Sonia surprised everyone by giving it all up to join a fairly new children’s newspaper and webzine ‘Keekli’ based in Shimla. During her short stint, she learned and performed the role of a reporter as well as compiled various sections on reading, storytelling, and young achievers. She then went on to join AuthorsUpfront as a freelance editor, assisting in almost two dozen fiction and non-fiction books, along with taking up intermittent projects with the travel magazine The Traveller Trails.
