Part I

It was a quiet night in Pali Hill, one of the best neighbourhoods in Bandra, which is considered by many to be Mumbai’s nicest suburb. Since it was December and Christmas Eve, the weather was very pleasant and a gentle breeze made it even more so. Despite the salubrious climate, Bade Panje, the Maharaja of Bandra, was nervous and edgy, as were his two sons Princes Milo and Donny, and the various Rajas who formed his entourage, as they waited for the news of the ongoing battle.  The Maharaja of Mahim had invaded Bandra and a furious fight was raging in front of Lucky Hotel. Bagee, the Raja of Reclamation, had turned traitor and was in alliance with the evil invader. If the Mahim army prevailed, the whole of Hill Road would be open to the invader, which would then threaten Carter Road and Turner Road. Pali Hill, which was Bade Panje’s fortress, would become very vulnerable. This was a battle that had to be won.
