Part II

A few days after Bade Panje’s murder, Dost ran into Rinny outside the KFC on Linking Road.

What news?’ Dost asked Rinny.

‘Strange things abound. Yesterday an aeroplane descending into the airport at night with its lights on, emitted a shriek not unlike Bade Panje’s growl, when he was really angry or furious, as it flew along the Bandra coastline,’ Rinny told Dost.

‘Yes, many strange things are happening,’ Dost agreed. At the Fashion Corner, there is no bargaining between buyers and the street vendors. Folks just pay the price the vendors ask without any negotiation!’ I’m the Raja of Linking Road and I never ever imagined I would see something like that.’
