Swarnadip Chatterjee narrates a spectacular tale filled with innocence and dread, that leaves the reader hanging with a spine-tingling twist.

Ok, so today I will try to get my spellings correct. And no lying about my marks anymore. I will make sure that Kavya and I are home before five. This is the promise I made, and I must keep it to get a B next time. Mrs Banerjee cannot insult me every time in front of the entire class just because I confuse between felt and left or write whith instead of with. May she rot in hell!

Ok, no. Thamma said not to hurt people. That is not good. I am sorry.

I had the most fantastic dream last night. It is five in the morning. I am lying awake and still cannot believe that it was just a dream. My Thamma used to say—a nice dream in the early dawn is bound to come true. She always told me to write it down and make a wish every day before I sleep. We are close to God just before we sleep and also before we wake up from the dream we wish to see, she told me. And Thamma was adorable. She could not lie to me. She loved me. I believe in whatever she said.
