Prize-winning Delhi student tries to raise money to travel to the US
Prashansa Taneja, a second-year English undergraduate at the University of Delhi, has been awarded the first prize in the annual essay competition (college division) organized by the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA).
She won the prize for her essay “Lovers of their Time: Untimeliness in Pride and Prejudice”.
She happens to be the first South Asian student to ever win this prize.
JASNA has invited her as a guest of honour to their Annual General Meeting to be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA from September 27-29.
However, she does not have the money to travel to the US to attend the award ceremony.
She has arranged some funds but she needs US$1000 more.
