Tao Lin is an American poet, short story writer and novelist, but he’s perhaps best known as a provocateur.
The 30-year-old was banned from New York University’s bookstores after being arrested for shoplifting in 2008. That same year, he advertised shares for the royalties for an unfinished novel and successfully raised $12,000.
