Documents include diaries author wrote as a teenager as well as drafts of past work and forthcoming novel: The Guardian
Hanif Kureishi admits some trepidation at handing over 40 years of personal diaries and notebooks for anyone to see. “My biggest terror is that it might not be well written or it is naive or daft,” he said. The writer was speaking as the British Library announced it had acquired his literary archive for £100,000, including the diaries he has kept since he was a teenager.
