Dear Readers,
As we enter 2016, all of us here at Kitaab would like to thank you for your continued support. Your boundless enthusiasm for great literature and your generosity has kept us going!
2015 saw our publishing list expand to five titles. It is a modest beginning but we have bigger plans. For the next year, we already have a good line up of titles for the first two quarters. We have a pile of manuscripts to go through, so we are sure we will find some more gems to publish and rave about.
We are already a 15-member team and we hope to add two new country editors to our team. We will make the announcements early next year!
Kitaab is forging new partnerships to take the Kitaab brand forward. This year, we became partners with the Hyderabad Literary Festival. We will announce some major partnerships soon, which includes our content partnership with a well-known global technology and content platform. Talking of technology, this year we started live streaming video chats. We hope to do more of these online activities to get writers connected with readers across the barriers of geography. We plan to do book talks, book launches and meet the author sessions through video streaming technology. We are also starting some offline activities such as readings and workshops to build the Kitaab community. This will start from Singapore and then we will try to take it to other territories too. We want to take a moment and especially thank those of you who supported our Indiegogo campaign. Though we did not achieve our target but we were encouraged by your response. We believe that we are about to start on the most exciting part of our journey. In 2016, we set out to realise our complete vision! It will take time but we strongly believe that we will get there with your support and encouragement. We wish you a very happy and peaceful 2016! |
