Lounge Interview: Smita P Mukherjee (Author & Screenwriter)

Team Kitaab is in conversation with author and screenwriter Smita P Mukherjee whose story is a part of TBASS 2021 (Kitaab, 2021).

Smita P Mukherjee is a critically acclaimed author and screenwriter. Her book Table No 10, an assortment of short stories made it to Goodreads with a rating of 3.75. Her work as a screenwriter spans from TV to web-series which received high ratings and popularity. In 2017, Smita was judged as the best screenwriter in an internal survey conducted by the India’s leading satellite channel for her story-telling and screenwriting work for a social crime based show. 

She started her TV career in 2015 by writing for India’s longest running and most popular crime-based whodunnit drama. Smita’s known for her dedication, innovative narration, and well-crafted screenplay and storytelling abilities. Her animation feature titled Serena –battle of rainbow kingdom was a quarter finalist and a semi-finalist in two of Hollywood’s leading screenwriting contests.  Smita studied at UCLA school of Theatre, Film, and Television.
