Team Kitaab is in conversation with a writer and visual arts researcher Elaine Chiew, whose story is a part of TBASS 2021.
Elaine Chiew is a writer and visual arts researcher. She is the author of The Heartsick Diaspora and editor/compiler of Cooked Up: Food Fiction From Around the World. A two-time winner of the Bridport Prize, she has been shortlisted, longlisted, and nominated in various competitions including most recently the Manchester Short Story Prize, the Pushcart, and Mogford International Food and Drink Prize.
Her stories have been anthologised in the U.S., UK, and Singapore, including recently airing on BBC Radio 4. In a previous career, she was a capital markets attorney in New York, Hong Kong, and London.
Her short story, The Seal Carver, is featured in The Best Asian Short Stories 2021 (Kitaab).
