Abstract

Drawing from personal experiences, the paper explores the nuanced identity of a third-generation Punjabi woman born and brought up in Calcutta. It unravels the emotional tensions of belonging to two places, yet not feeling at home in either. The narrative reflects on how identity is not a binary but a lived synthesis – stitched together with two different worlds woven in a saree and a salwar.
