India: Khammam poet bags TANA award

Poet and senior journalist B Prasen has been selected for the prestigious Sahitya Puraskaram by the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) for the year 2016. Prasen will be honoured by the TANA represented by its president Jampala Chowdary and secretary Madhu Tata in a literary programme christened ‘Ellalu leni Telugu’, to be held at the Sequel Resorts here on Thursday.

It’s learnt that TANA was bestowing the award recognising Prasen’s literary and critic skills for the last few decades. His works include – ‘Inka Undi’, ‘Edi Kadu’ and ‘Prasen Sarvaswam’. The last one is a mix of prose, poetry and essays.He also experimented with a new trend in the literary world by compiling a book ‘Kavitvam’ without naming the poet’s name, although it was compiled by him and three others. Read more
