Quarantine Poetry #9 Saamanjasya (Harmony) Written & Recited by Anindita Ghosh (Hindi)
“Harmony” is a Hindi poem written and recited by Singapore-based actor, writer and producer, Anindita Ghosh.
HARMONY English translation of the poem: By Anindita Ghosh
A little birdie on my verandah asked me this morning
Where are the humans of your towns?
What happened…that the streets are so secluded and such silence abounds? Where have those sprightly little kids at the playground vanished to?
Their innocent shrieks & squeals were music to our ears too!
I told the little birdie… we have to defeat this Corona Flu! So now YOU ALL shall see – the displays of the Human Zoo!
USA Europe Middle East or China… Everyone has witnessed the wrath of Corona.
The world is shocked today – scared and helpless… There is tragedy somewhere… while elsewhere…family togetherness.
Now I just pray that when this crisis is over… May humans still remember this time forever.
If this life of lockdown felt like a grave punishment to us… Please do not be thus cruel with other living creatures.
The One who is your God – is also their creator…
Living in HARMONY is the only means to make this world better.
Saamanjasya (HINDI TEXT IN ROMAN) By Anindita Ghosh
Aaj subah baraande me ek chhoti si chidiya ne mujhse poochha…
Is sheher ke insaan kahaan hai… Kya hua jo… galiyan itni sunsaan …chhaaya sannaata yahaan hai
Kahan hai wo playground me chahakte hue bachche
Unki masoom khilkaari humein bhi lagte the achchhe
Maine chidiya se kaha…
Corona ko humein hai haraana To ab tum sab dekho… manav chidiyaghar ka nazraana
Amrika Europe Middle East ho ya China Corona ke keher ne dikhaya hai sab ko yahi aaina
Sansaar stabdh hai aaj…bhaybheet hai aur laachaar bhi
Kahin parivar ka sukh hai…to kahin hai hahakaar bhi.
Ab bas Dua hai yeh ki …jab ye sankat tal jaaye
Insaan ko tab bhi yeh din yaad reh jaaye
Qaid ki ye zindagi ‘gar humein na bhaya Baaki jivon ke saath bhi…na kare yun nirdayaa
Unka bhi vidhaata hai wahi …jo tera bhagwan hai
Saamanjasya se jeeye …isi me sabka uththaan hai.
