Mumbai’s magical Mehboob Studio is the venue of the third edition of The Times of India Literary Carnival, December 6-8. Yet again, a range of sparkling discussions and book launches will explore this year’s focus on Romance, love and violence —individually and in their bizarre liaisons.
The theme, chosen months ago, has turned out to be prescient, given the current barrage of real-life stories that defy the limits of fiction. Keynote speakers will deconstruct each of these subjects—Hanif Kureishi with his trademark cynicism, Karan Johar through his rose-tinted shades and Eve Ensler with her bare-knuckled honesty.
The gently perceptive Ruskin Bond will receive a lifetime achievement award.
