Having a legislation that safeguards intellectual property can also protect the moral and economic interests of local creators, says Reserve Bank of Fiji governor Barry Whiteside.

While the international and local community observed Intellectual Property Rights Day on Sunday, Mr Whiteside said the legislation would give creators certain rights to use and exploit their intellectual property for a certain period of time.
