About the Poet

GOURANGA MONDAL was born (1996) in Domjuri village of West Bengal India. He graduated in Bengali from Bankura university and is currently working towards his B.Ed. degree. Mondal’s verse replete with language games and idiosyncratic constructions, illuminates a variety of subjects from sexuality to the tyranny of words with new light. He has published two books of verse — Poong Janma and Bhool Ramaner Sutro. He has done poetry readings at Sahitya Akademi and his poems have appeared in high-quality literary journals including Krittibas, Kabisammelan, Charjapad and others. Facebook

About the Translator

RAJAT CHAUDHURI is a bilingual fiction writer, translator, editor, and columnist. His most recent work `Calcutta Nights’ is the first ever translation of noted Bengali author Hemendra Kumar Roy’s memoir of his nocturnal wanderings in Calcutta. Chaudhuri is also the recipient of a number of international writing fellowships including a Charles Wallace Fellowship, UK, Arts Council Korea-InKO residency, South Korea, Sangam House residency and Hawthornden Castle, Scotland residency among others. His recent novel `The Butterfly Effect’ is listed in `Fifty Must Read Eco-Disasters in Fiction’ by Book Riot, USA.
