  • On 30th Jan 1948, Nathuram Godse shot Mahatma Gandhi three times at a point-blank range. 

  • In 1949, Godse was hanged for killing the “father of India”. Yet with the BJP at its crescendo, with Hindu nationalism values at its core, the image of Godse has shifted from a traitor of the nation to a patriot, says a report in The Guardian.
