In conversation with young writers Shriya Asha Sharma and Sazma Samir where we talk about their latest releases through Kitaab Junior and what they are working on next.
Early this year, Kitaab launched some exciting new titles by young writers under its imprint Kitaab Junior. The titles released by them include Unicorn Adventures: The Dark Forest by Shriya Asha Sharma and The Sixth Stone by Sazma Samir.
At Kitaab Publishing, it has been a constant endeavour to bring out quality literature for readers across age groups and genres. Our latest YA novel, The Mudwillow – The Six Major Clans by S S Raval has also released to great reviews last month and is also available on Amazon globally for all fantasy lovers.
Storyteller, Adventure seeker, Straight-A student – 10-year-old Shriya Sharma, who lives and studies in Singapore, has debuted with a young adult fantasy title, Unicorn Adventures: The Dark Forest, published by Kitaab under the Kitaab Junior imprint.
This story is set in the magical land of Unitopia and follows an adventure of three unicorn friends – Miso, Milky & Mocha. (Read the synopsis of the book here)
Shriya is of Indian origin, currently based in Singapore has also lived and studied in Hongkong and Guangzhou (China) – she is multilingual and can converse in English, Mandarin and Hindi. Shriya enjoys travelling and has visited over 30 countries. She loves music and besides being a pianist, is also a self-taught ukuleleist.
